I am pleased to share that I led the intensive training for the quantitative data collection team from October 1st to 8th, 2024. This training was part of the project on the Assessment of Public and Private Blood Transfusion Services under DGHS, Bangladesh, implemented by the Centre of Excellence for Health Systems and Universal Health Coverage at BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University.
For the quantitative portion of the project, my responsibilities included:
- Designing and developing data collection tools using Kobo Toolbox, including advanced ODK/XLS forms, tailored for the facility assessments and exit interviews.
- Providing hands-on training on tool installation, usage, and real-time troubleshooting with Kobo Collect.
- Conducting interactive sessions with lectures, role-playing, and practical exercises to improve the team's skills in digital data capture and ethical research.
- Facilitating quality control to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
This training was crucial for preparing a skilled team that collected extensive data from blood transfusion centers across the country. The insights gained will be vital for improving Bangladesh’s blood transfusion services. I am grateful for the support from WHO, DGHS, and my dedicated colleagues on this important initiative.
