Honoured to have supported the successful organization and coordination of a cross-sectoral workshop on Just Transition for Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), held in Khagrachari, Bangladesh.
This workshop brought together voices from human health, livestock, fisheries, and agriculture to unpack how AMR affects lives, livelihoods, and ecosystems differently and why equity must be at the heart of any sustainable response.
Through group discussions, scenario exercises, and participatory reflections, we explored:
- How antimicrobial access, misuse, and burden vary across regions and communities
- The need to centre justice in AMR behaviour change and policy design
- Practical pathways for inclusive and locally responsive AMR governance
The aim was not just to build awareness, but to start a deeper conversation around fairness, voice, and shared responsibility, especially in fragile, underserved areas like the Chattogram Hill Tracts.
Grateful to have contributed with my incredible colleagues who worked hard to make this workshop a success.
